prosthodontic care

Crowns, Bridges, and Veneers

Our crowns, bridges, and veneers are custom designed to match all proportions of adjacent natural teeth. A variety of esthetic materials can be custom colored and shaped to offer each patient a distinctive prosthetic restoration to enhance appearance and function.

Dental Implants

Dental implants can offer significant advantages over conventional tooth-replacement techniques. Our office works closely with area periodontists and oral surgeons in the coordination of care for our implant patients. We use only implant systems of the highest quality and which have earned approval by the American Dental Association. Dental implants can be restored in a number of ways, such as single crowns, implant bridges, implant overdentures, or fixed-detachable “hybrid” dentures. Learn more about dental implants.

Full Mouth Reconstructions

Excessive wear of the teeth from grinding or bruxism can often necessitate full-mouth restoration, for which Dr. Baldree is especially qualified. Teeth can be replaced by many different means and combinations of techniques, such as crowns with non-removable bridges, removable partials, and implant-supported replacement teeth.

Hybrid Dentures

With special planning, Dr. Baldree coordinates with local surgeons to provide implant-supported fixed-detachable hybrid dentures.  Sometimes call “teeth-in-a-day,” these full arch dental implant restorations are completed in a single day, starting with the removal of all diseased teeth, placement of 4 or more dental implants, and the delivery of a custom-designed and -fabricated “All-on-X” screwed-on temporary denture. The temporary appliance must later be replaced with a permanent one after the implants are completely healed.

Complete and Partial Dentures

Removable appliances, such as customized complete or partial dentures, can restore function and appearance in the mouth as well as the surrounding facial tissues.  Immediate dentures can often be planned when severely debilitated teeth cannot be restored, and a temporary denture is delivered at the time they are removed. Dentures can be made over mini implants, preserving bone and tissue and greatly increasing denture stability. Significantly improved stability and function can be achieved for partial dentures and overdentures by the use of precision attachments. Learn more about dentures.

Maxillofacial Reconstruction

Working with other doctors, prosthodontists provide treatment for patients with birth defects (such as cleft palate), traumatic injuries, and patients who have undergone surgical or radiation treatment for cancer. If part of the palate has been lost, an obturator appliance, with or without teeth, is required to restore the ability to chew, swallow, and speak.

Implant and Prosthetic Maintenance

Dr. Baldree and our hygienists provide specialized prophylactic maintenance of dental implants and appliances.

high tech and high touch

Because of Dr. Baldree’s specialty training in prosthodontics and his high standards of clinical excellence, many patients find that our procedures differ from those they may have experienced in general dental practices. Dr. Baldree personally performs many clinical and laboratory procedures routinely delegated to assistants and technicians in many dental practices.

Our practice has also invested in technology that has a proven track record of improving patient care and outcomes. We utilize CBCT x-ray technology to create 3D computerized images in implant planning and other complex restorations. We also utilize digital scanning, allowing many of our restorations to be designed and fabricated using CAD-CAM technology.

Due to the special demands and precision required of complex restorative care, we work closely with only the best dental laboratory technicians available, many in other cities. We hope you’ll agree that the high quality and esthetic results of such special attention to detail are well worth the additional time and financial commitments they may require.

the value of your smile

Having a healthy smile is not just about looking good. Recent research is documenting what dentists have known for years - that good oral health directly relates to good overall health. Poor oral health has been shown to increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, pneumonia, osteoporosis, preterm birth, and low birth weight.

Your ability to chew comfortably and effectively directly relates to your ability to maintain a healthy diet; your overall health will steadily decline if you are unable to receive appropriate nutrition by eating proteins, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

Your teeth and jaws are also important for speech. Many people become self-conscious and may even isolate themselves socially when they cannot eat or speak well due to missing or painful teeth. Confidence, self-esteem, and quality of life are all boosted by esthetic and functional improvements to your smile.

Referrals

Many of our patients are referred for specialized restorative care by their general dentist or another dental specialist. Others are referred by one of our satisfied patients who appreciates the quality of care they receive here. However, referral into our practice is not required. Some patients find their way to us for a second opinion regarding an extensive treatment plan that has been proposed by another dentist. Whatever the source, new patients are always welcome and appreciated. For dentists referring new patients, please visit eDossea.

New patient evaluations

For specialized restorative care, your initial evaluation may include the following:

• a comprehensive clinical examination
• a radiographic (x-ray) series
• diagnostic study models, with or without mounting
• a diagnostic wax-up
• clinical photographs

The initial evaluation is often followed by a second treatment conference appointment in order to review Dr. Baldree’s treatment recommendations. Prosthodontic treatment plans are often highly individualized and complex, and Dr. Baldree and our staff use this appointment to help patients plan for the time and financial commitments required to complete them.

Affording our care

Considering the importance of healthy, functioning teeth to your overall health and well-being, you really can’t afford not to invest in your smile. Compared to transportation or other monthly expenses, quality restorative care is an excellent value.

Because of our high level of specialized care, we do not participate as a participating provider with any PPO insurance plans.  However, we do file dental insurance and accept the assignment of benefits. Our office staff are skilled at helping you plan your treatment to maximize your dental insurance benefits.  We are also able to file claims with medical insurance when appropriate.

We offer Care Credit payment plans to qualified individuals who desire to finance the cost of their treatment for up to 60 months. We are also pleased to accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay.
